OSAA STATE WRESTLING TOURNEY

General Information:

·     MASKS - REQUIRED IN ALL INDOOR SPACES

 Saturday, February 26th

***GENERAL ADMISSION FOR BOYS STATE WRESTLING WILL GO ON SALE AT 9AM ON THURSDAY, 2/24. YOU CAN PUCHASE THE TICKETS ON THE OSAA WEBSITE. THERE WILL BE NO ONSITE SALES!!***

Boys tournament doors will open to spectators at 8am and wrestling will begin at 9am

·       Over 300 of the best wrestling athletes in the state of Oregon will be competing at Culver

·       Teams will have access to the school cafeteria.  This area will be monitored by tournament staff. 

·       Food vendors will be providing dining options to fans and athletes on Thursday and Saturday.

·       Extra outdoor restrooms will be located outside of the gym.

·       Volunteer help will be located at a number of different locations to help monitor and inform any spectators/athletes/students.

 Parking

·       Teams will be given 1 team car pass. Car passes will allow a team vehicle to park in the horseshoe parking area located in front of the gym. 

·       Spectator parking will be located at the football and soccer field parking areas off of SW Iris Lane.  Shuttles will be running every 15 minutes to transport people to and from the parking area to the gym. 

·       Buses will be dropping off athletes/coaches to enter the athletic facility by the district office and north gym.

·       Extra team parking will use the Culver Christian Church.

 Ticketing Info:

Tournament ticket information can be found on the OSAA website.  All tickets will need to be purchased online.  We will not be selling tickets at the event.

*The varsity schedule will appear, you may also select "JV"

***Important***

1.  No athlete can practice until they have a current athletic physical on file.

2.  No athlete can practice until they have completed, signed and turned in all necessary paperwork.

3.  No athlete can compete in a game until all paperwork is complete and fees have been paid.

VOLUNTEER COACHING

WANT TO BE A VOLUNTEER COACH? PLEASE FOLLOW THE STEPS BELOW:

***PER OSAA REQUIREMENTS- YOU CANNOT INTERACT WITH ANY SPORT PARTICIPANTS UNTIL ALL THE CRITERIA LISTED BELOW ARE MET/COMPLETED.***

 

1.  Speak with the High School or Middle School Athletic Director and Coach you want to volunteer with and get their approval.

2.  Email NANCY BOLHUIS  AT NBOLHUIS@CULVER.K12.OR.US regarding your intention to Volunteer and how/when you plan on accomplishing the steps listed below, AND THE EMAIL ADDRESS YOU USED TO CREATE YOUR ACCOUNT ON NFHS, so that your completions can be tracked and reported to the Coach and AD.

***YOU MUST INCLUDE THE EMAIL ADDRESS YOU USED TO CREATE YOUR ACCOUNT ON NFHS IN YOUR EMAIL TO NANCY BOLHUIS IN ORDER FOR YOUR COMPLETIONS TO BE PROPERLY TRACKED***

 

3.  Complete a Background Check and Volunteer Application   (This must be completed every 2 years)

  • You can download disclosure documents, the volunteer handbook and the application by clicking HERE.

4-A.  IF YOU ARE GOING TO VOLUNTEER FOR A HIGH SCHOOL TEAM, YOU MUST COMPLETE THE TRAININGS/CERTIFICATIONS LISTED FOR YOUR SPORT ON OSAA:

4-B.  IF YOU ARE GOING TO VOLUNTEER FOR A MIDDLE SCHOOL TEAM, you must complete the following Trainings/Certifications:

  • ALL MIDDLE SCHOOL SPORTS:
    • Concussion in Sports- Annual, Every Year
  • MIDDLE SCHOOL FOOTBALL MUST COMPLETE THE "HEADS UP FOOTBALL" CERT

5.  Email NANCY BOLHUIS  AT NBOLHUIS@CULVER.K12.OR.US with the email address you used to create your account on NFHS and that you have finished all of your required Trainings/Certifications so that your eligibility to Volunteer Coach can be tracked and reported to the Coach and AD.

  • If you have any trouble with any of the above steps and cannot get the answers you need from the Coach or AD, please contact Nancy Bolhuis at the above email or by calling 541-546-7503.
  • If you have already completed any of the following requirements, please email Nancy Bolhuis with a list of what you have already done.
